You are a quintessential leader— Kunle Bankole felicitates Makinde at 56

A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party in Oriire Local Government, Hon. Kunle Bankole, has felicitated with Oyo State First Citizen, Governor Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde on the occasion of his 56th birthday celebration.

Bankole, in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, described Makinde as a quintessential leader who exemplifies the uncommon fusion of action and thought.

According to the former Council boss, the Governor has demonstrated the traits of a good leader, including the courage to act and the willingness to accept the consequences of that action.

He noted that Governor Makinde is a great philanthropist who is loved by his people and has succeeded in all that he has done so far.

Bankole, who is a member of LAUTECH Governing Council, praised the Governor’s track record of service to humanity and added that, as a leader, he spares no cost to ensure that the Oyo People have a comfortable life, particularly in this period of subsidy removal whilst also commending him on his “SAfER” initiative for economic recovery.

He added that the Governor out of his love for the people directed the state-owned Pacesetter Transport Service to roll out mass transit buses to convey the people at the pre-subsidy removal rate with even people above sixty years of age and students in school uniforms enjoying a lower rate.

The statement read: “Governor Makinde trajectory of service to humanity makes him a quintessential leader as he is loved by everyone and always ensure that he makes Oyo well governable for the people.

He was the first governor in Nigeria to introduce mass transit buses in order to lessen the impact of the subsidy removal on the general public, demonstrating his love for the people and his capacity for effective leadership.

“The Governor also devised the well-thought-out Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) programme, which aims to assist individuals and businesses in overcoming the financial hardships brought on by the removal of subsidy.

“To cushion the effect of the policy on state government workers, Makinde also approved the payment of N25,000 monthly to each civil servant while pensioners are to be paid N15,000. The N25,000 as wage award among many things he has done.”

Bankole prayed God to keep blessing and fortifying him with many happy years in the hereafter, to illuminate his path with prosperity, and to give him the fortitude and discernment to overcome any obstacles that may arise.

“Once again, I am wishing Your Excellency a happy birthday celebration.”
