On the auspicious occasion of the 56th birthday of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the former Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. Raphael Afonja AbdulRahman, has conveyed warm wishes and heartfelt felicitations to the esteemed leader.

Prof. Afonja, known for his significant contributions to the state’s development during his tenure as Commissioner, took a moment to celebrate Governor Makinde’s leadership and expressed appreciation for the positive changes witnessed under his governance.

In his congratulatory message, Afonja stated, “I extend my heartfelt wishes to Governor Seyi Makinde on his 56th birthday. This is a day to celebrate not just a political figure but a visionary leader who has been steering Oyo State towards prosperity and development.”

Reflecting on the Governor’s tenure, the former Commissioner highlighted specific achievements in the realm of works and transport, emphasizing the transformative impact of Governor Makinde’s policies on infrastructure and mobility within the state.

Like he did for Ibadan, he said we also anticipate more roads construction, reconstruction of existing roads, and a flyover in OGBOMOSHO and other zones.

“Governor Makinde’s commitment to enhancing the infrastructure and transportation sectors has significantly contributed to the overall progress of Oyo State. His leadership has brought about positive changes, and I commend his efforts in making our state a better place for all,” remarked Prof. Afonja.

Prof. Afonja further acknowledged the significance of Governor Makinde’s emphasis on human capital development, a cause he himself had championed during his term as Commissioner.

He applauded the Governor for recognizing the potential within Oyo State’s youth demographic and encouraging their active participation in the state’s development.

“As we celebrate Governor Makinde’s birthday, let us also acknowledge his dedication to human capital development. It is heartening to see a leader invest in the future by empowering the youth. This approach is crucial for sustained growth and progress,” added Prof. Afonja.

The former Commissioner however extended his best wishes for Governor Makinde’s personal well-being and continued success in leading Oyo State.
