His death was a rude shock— Oyo deputy gov mourns Ajuwon passage

The deputy governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has mourned the passage of one of the most dedicated members of the Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer Olatunji Ajuwon, describing his death as a rude shock.

Engineer Ajuwon, who was renowned for his pivotal role within the (PDP) as a leader in Ibadan North, and as a delegate from Oyo state, died on Monday.

While expressing his condolences, the deputy governor said that the deceased’s passing had left Ibadan North’s political scene in a state of mourning and profound sadness.

He also said that the deceased had always stood up for what was right and had never hidden his love or support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

While paying his condolence visit this evening, the deputy governor emphasised that the late Ajuwon was a great politician, a stalwart supporter of mass-oriented projects, and a strong party man.

He equally highlighted the importance of Ajuwon’s services to the Housing Corporation as a full time member during his tenure as the executive chairman of the corporation.

Lawal noted that the deceased played a vital role in shaping the party’s direction and representing the interests of the state at the last PDP national convention in Abuja as a national delegate.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Engineer Olatunji Ajuwon, a friend and one of our political leaders in the Oyo PDP.

“Ajuwon was a full-time board member during my tenure as Housing Corporation chairman, and he played a major role in transforming the dilapidated building into a modern taste-edifice.

“He was a loyal party man and committed democrat, with a deep understanding of the state’s political landscape.

“He was an extremely loyal and great politician, who did his best for our party, and as a national delegate from Oyo state who played a vital role in shaping the party’s direction and representing the interests of the state at the PDP convention in Abuja, the deputy governor said.

He added that the late Ajuwon would definitely be missed by the entire political class, particularly the people of Ibadan North, Housing staff, and the state as a whole.

Lawal condoled with the immediate family of the departed soul, the leader of PDP in Oyo state, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the entire people Ibadan North local government and prayed God to grant the departed soul an eternal rest.
