Makinde tasks Comm. Olayiwola’s daughter, groom on love, tolerance

Governor of Oyo state, ‘Seyi Makinde’ has urged the daughter of Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy matters, Segun Olayiwola and her husband to imbibe the virtues of love, tolerance and understanding in order to make their marriage blissful.

He gave the advice on Saturday during a wedding between Abimifoluwa Olayiwola and Oluwatunseyi Ojedokun, which held at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Oyo State Housing Corporation Estate, Akobo, Ibadan.

Makinde, who was represented by his deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, described marriage as a journey taken by lovers that required endurance, comprehension, tolerance, and forgiveness to succeed.

He commended the newlyweds for making their parents happy by making the correct decision to be married and exhorted them to take advice from Bishop Adelakun’s sermon.

The couple should constantly remember that they are married and should be extremely aware of their movement and the people they associate with, the deputy governor stated, emphasising the necessity for the couple to be discretionary in their actions and should also stay together with love in marriage.

He said: “Patience is very important in marriage and the new couple should be able to sacrifice for each other, be tolerant and understand each other because it’s only with love they can always live together in peace.

“Once again, I am wishing the new couple a successful marriage. I pray God continue to be with them and bless them with good fruits”, he added.
