JUST IN: Makinde names 8.3km Akobo-Olorunda road after Nyesom Wike 

The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has named the 8.3 kilometer Akobo-Olorunda road after Nyesom Wike, former governor of Rivers State.

The governor made the declaration at the flag-off of the dualization of the road on Friday. 

Speaking at the event, Makinde told the people of the area that the road will provide relief for motorists and residents, adding that the road would enhance the development of the axis upon completion.

He said: “We kept our promise and awarded the project and today, we fulfilled our promise and the reconstruction work has started,” declaring that the project will be completed in twelve months.

He revealed that 30 percent of the total sum has been paid to the contractor.
