19 stranded Oyo pilgrims heave sigh of relief after receiving their Visas

It was a moment of joy and praise on Friday as 19 stranded Oyo intending pilgrims received their Visas for their pilgrimage after weeks of challenges and delays in processing.

The intending pilgrims who met with the deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, at the secretariat, expressed their profound gratitude to Oyo state government and particularly to the “Amirul Hajj” for his quick intervention and the brilliant approach he was able to retrieve their visas within the shortest period of time.

Recall that the 19 pilgrims ought to have flown with the third batch of the state last week who landed landed in the holy month few days ago.

While making the presentation, the deputy governor expressed hope that everyone will be arriving Saudi Arabia for the holy pilgrimage by next week.

He recalled that he was in the hajj camp at Olodo in Ibadan few days ago to address the intending pilgrims, adding that there were three contingents in Oyo state, but that they were unable to travel with the third batch due to issues surrounding the processing of their visas.

Lawal, who said he would also be visiting the Holy land to participate in the Hajj, assured the intending pilgrims of government support especially on their welfare.

He also revealed the arrangements he had made for their transportation to the airport so they could arrive in Saudi Arabia promptly.

Excited by the development, the pilgrims thanked Governor Seyi Makinde and the deputy governor, Bayo Lawal for making it possible for them to surmount the obstacles as well as for their good arrangement that also allowed them to scale through the barrier.
