Iyaloja General of Oyo state, Abeo commiserates with Oyo govt, traders over Agbeni fire outbreak

The Iyaloja General of Oyo State and Southwest Coordinator, Market Traders Association of Nigeria MATAN, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo NURUDEEN has commiserated with Oyo State Government and traders over the recent fire incident that destroyed shops and goods worth millions of Naira at Agbeni market in Ibadan.

Recall that MOUTHPIECE NGR had earlier reported that the Agbeni market gone up in flames at about 04:30am, on Sunday destroying shops and properties worth millions of Naira.

In a statement personally signed by her and made available to newsmen on Monday, the Iyaloja General of Oyo state expressed her deep concern about the devastating effects of the inferno.

She commiserated with the victims and the Seyi Makinde-led government of Oyo state for the unfortunate tragedy, describing it a great loss.

She equally expressed her gratitude to Almighty God that no lives were lost during the inferno, calling on the government and relevant authorities to launch thorough investigation into the incidents to establish the exact causes of the fire outbreaks and the circumstances around the incidents and forestall future occurrences while finding ways to help the affected victims.

The Iyaloja then advised traders about the necessity of always taking precautions to prevent fire outbreaks as well as to exercise caution and awareness when using electrical appliances both during and after market hours.

The statement read in part: “My deepest sympathies go out to the families, friends, and loved ones of those whose shops or goods perished in the flames.

“I thank God that no lives were lost, but I am incredibly saddened by the loss of property to the preventable inferno.

“So, I am pleading with the appropriate authorities to undertake a comprehensive inquiry into the incidents to identify the precise reasons of the fire outbreaks while also offering my condolences to the victims and the Oyo State government over the incident.”
