Again, Bayo Lawal demonstrates high level humility, surprises aircraft passengers

The deputy governor of Oyo state, Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal, is often described as humble because he expresses genuine gratitude, lacks arrogance, and has a modest view of himself.

He is a man who views other people as his equals and does not consider that he is superior to them, let alone flaunt riches, prestige, or accomplishment in order to entice others. Instead, he has chosen to lead a simple life.

Lawal, despite holding the covetous position of deputy governor of Oyo state, has undoubtedly been labeled by many as a very humble man with a high level of dexterity and spectacular integrity due to the manner he conducts himself among his contemporaries and those younger than him.

He also shown his deep humility on Wednesday while returning to Ibadan from Abuja, when he politely declined the request of an aircraft captain to switch to the business class of the Abuja/Ibadan bound plane.

Lawal, who had discretely taken a seat in the economic class of the plane, informed the flight captain that it was his policy to maintain a low profile.

His action has no doubt got the passengers talking, including the two pilots of the aircraft who were startled with his mood and the way he lowered himself before everyone.

The deputy governor appreciated the captain and his team for the show of love, respect and recognition.

He nonetheless explained that it has been a long time decision for him to live a simple life either as a private or public citizen.

Recall that many people in Oyo state, including the royal fathers in Oke-Ogun and the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, who made the revelation upon his return from his protracted trip amd 21-day vacation, have severally referred to Bayo Lawal as a man of humility.

The deputy governor has demonstrated this kind of humility not just to Special Assistants who visit his home by accompanying them on their outings, but also to regular people, including people with disabilities, by sharing a meal with them alongside his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal, the last time they stormed his Bashorun home.

Lawal has always led a very humble life and kept his residence always open, even before being sworn in as the state’s deputy governor.

Indeed, Governor Seyi Makinde has made no mistake appointing him as his Co-pilot.
