‘We will stay in PDP because of you’— Oke-Ogun aggrieved members tell Oyo Acting Governor

On Sunday, some aggrieved members of Peoples Democratic Party in Oke-Ogun stormed the Bashorun home of Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal, the acting Governor of Oyo State to express their unwavering support for Governor Seyi Makinde.

Chief Molumo Balogun of Kajola led the delegates from the Kajola/Itesiwaju/Iseyin Federal Constituency, who said that they had come specifically to congratulate him on his new position as the Deputy Governor of Oyo State.

According to Balogun, they are paying him the Visit to express their support for the re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde and to show that they are still engaged party members.

A speaker from the Itesiwaju local government said that despite his new position as Deputy Governor, they are prepared to remain in the PDP and that they have every reason to trust him.

Olalekan Lateef, better known as Afobaje, from Iseyin Local Government, however, stated in his remarks that Barrister Bayo Lawal should always keep in mind that he has supporters throughout the Oke-Ogun zone.

He emphasized that they had been working together since they joined Accord and the African Democratic Congress, saying they had accepted him as their leader and would keep praying for him.

The acting Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal, thanked the delegations in his speech and pledged to treat everyone equally.

Lawal emphasized that he has been through a lot in politics and has accumulated enough expertise throughout the course, saying that everyone would be carried along.

He asked the delegations to do everything in their power to guarantee that PDP won the upcoming elections, encouraging them to be patient with any difficulties they must have faced within PDP.

“There will be some appointments to bring people together. Therefore, those who have not yet been appointed should have patience because I can assure you that with me, in this position, I would treat everyone fairly.”- He concluded.
