Thunderstorm kills 12-year-old girl in Jigawa
Lightning has killed Maryam Rabiu Garba, 12 amidst heavy downpour in Kaugama Local Government, Jigawa State.
A resident told newsmen that the incident occurred on Monday evening when the girl was taking shelter in a classroom as a result of heavy rainfall.
He revealed that the girl was returning home after her mum sent her an errand.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam has confirmed the incident.
He said the incident has led to the death of Maryam Garba in Kaugama town.
He said the girl was hospitalized and confirmed dead by a medical practitioner.
