Wife who set husband on fire declared wanted

Ifeoluwa Bamidele has been declared wanted by the Osun State Police Command for the alleged murder of her husband; Bolu Bamidele.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Yemisi Opalola, made this revelation via an announcement.

The suspect has committed the act on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 11:30pm at Kola, Obokun local government.

According to the spokesperson, Ifeoluwa also known as Akanji Ifeoluwa Haddasah accused her deceased husband, Cairo-based Bolu of impregnating another woman and in anger set him ablaze.

She added that he was initially rushed to Osogbo Central Hospital but later referred to the University College Hospital, Ibadan for specialised treatment.

Opalola hinted that the Command in an effort to arrest the fleeing wife had launched a manhunt for her.

The Osun police spokesperson also denied news that the wife, Ifeoluwa had committed suicide.

Investigations also revealed that Ifeoluwa had left an angry note on her WhatsApp which stated that her husband drove her to the edge.

“I’ve always been a calm girl and I’ve never done this in my life but Teebam has pushed me to the edge,” the alleged WhatsApp note reads.

“At this point y’all will weep over myself and him before daybreak. I’m promising y’all that!!!”

A message obtained from Opalola on Wednesday later revealed that the victim, Bolu Bamidele eventually died at UCH, Ibadan around 4pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
