Shettima reacts to his emergence as VP candidate, meets Tinubu

The former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has reacted to his choice as the running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

MOUTHPIECE NGR had earlier reported that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Shettima, has via Facebook on Monday, revealed he has met with Tinubu in Abuja, and thanked the national leader of the party for choosing him as his running mate.

He said he was paying visit to children who have been turned orphan by Boko Haram in Borno when news of his selection came to him.

“Thank you for the trust Sir Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Prior to the official announcement of my nomination as the running mate to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. My intention was to visit 2 orphanages in Maiduguri (the Abdulateef Zabadne Orphanage Foundation and the Future Assured College) to celebrate with the orphans in the spirit of the Sallah festival.”

“In fact, the announcement came in while I was mingling and trying to put a smile on the faces of the kids who mostly became orphans as a result of Boko Haram insurgency,” he added.
