Police caution Governor elect, Adeleke, supporters over celebration

The Osun State Police Command has sent message of caution to the Osun state Governor elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, his supporters and political collaborators to celebrate the victory recorded in the just concluded Osun gubernatorial election moderately.

MOUTHPIECE NGR had earlier reported that Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor, Oyetola by getting 403,371 votes, while the latter got 375,027 votes.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Yemisi Opalola, has via a public announcement implored the victorious political actors to do away with hate or derogatory language that could trigger troubles or breach of the peace in the State.

The police command also maintained that some hoodlums, criminals and thugs may use the avenue of the celebration to hijack and perpetrate criminal acts in the State.

“The CP, assured the citizens of adequate security and solicited for the cooperation of all and sundry to sustain the peaceful environment being enjoyed in the State,” he said.

The police neutralized the fears over the non-issuance of Certificate of Return to the Governor elect and said that it had received information that the Adeleke would get the certificate on Wednesday, July, 20, 2022.
