Makinde Congratulates New CAN President, Okoh, Charges Cleric To Work For Nation’s Unity

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has congratulated Rev. Dr. Samson Olasupo A Ayokunle, the outgoing President of Christian Association of Nigeria on the occasion of his valedictory and the incoming President, the Most Rev. (Dr) Daniel C. Okoh.

Makinde’s Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, while speaking on behalf of his Principal during the valedictory and welcoming programme for the outgoing and incoming CAN President, which was held at the National Christian Centre, charged the two most respected Christian leaders and critical stakeholders to work on the unity of Nigeria.

He added that religion is the major factor capable of either holding or destabilizing a nation.

I congratulate the outgoing and the incoming CAN President for all they are doing to firmly hold the Christendom and to maintain the unity of this nation.

“The elevation of The Most Rev. (Dr) Daniel C. Okoh is well deserved as it comes after decades of hardwork, effective leadership and service to humanity.

“On behalf of the good people and government of Oyo State, I congratulate the outgoing and incoming CAN President, and pray God grants Most Rev. (Dr) Daniel C. Okoh the needed wisdom, understanding, spiritual uprightness and grace to succeed in the new office assigned to him,” he maintained.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation- Mr. Boss Mustapha; Benue State Governor, Governor Samuel Ortom; Delta State Governor and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Ifeanyichukwu Arthur Okowa; the former Anambra state Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, HRH Edmund Daukoru.

Mr. Timi Alaibe was there too including Director General Oyo State Liaison Officer, Wale Ajani, among others.
