Eid-el- Kabir: FG announces Monday, Tuesday public holiday

The Federal Government has announced Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th July 2022, as public holidays.

The two-day public holiday is to mark the 2022 Eid-el- Kabir celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, made this revelation via a statement on Thursday.

The minister has congratulated all Muslim faithfuls and Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora.

The statement read, “I call on Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country, considering the challenges of insecurity we face at the moment”

Aregbesola gave an assurance that the government of President Muhammad Buhari is “committed to the security of lives and properties of all Nigerians, empowering the citizens for successful living, the provisions of social investments programmes and adequate security in the schools” he added.

He implored the people of Nigeria to take responsibility by reporting any suspicious persons and criminal doings they perceive around them to security agencies with the use of the N-Alerts application that has been programmed to forestall security challenges with urgent response from security agencies.

”As soon as you see something do N- Alerts, ” he advised, especially during the festivities.

He urged all Nigerians to live with vigilance and observe perceived intruders in their communities.
