Buhari reacts to killing of former Japan PM Shinzo Abe

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the family of ex Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.

The President has also commiserated with the people and the government of Japan on the deceased leader’s assassination.

MOUTHPIECE NGR recalls that the politician was shot Friday morning while giving his campaign speech ahead of Sunday’s parliamentary election.

The Nigerian leader has described the longest-serving Japanese prime minister as an outstanding leader.

Buhari had assured the bereaved family of the prayers and thoughts of all Nigerians.

He said Abe has left behind remarkable legacy through his commitment to strengthening trade and investment between Africa and Japan through various initiatives.

“Under Abe, Nigeria and Japan enjoyed a strategic partnership, supporting each other’s shared aspirations on economic cooperation, healthcare, human resource development, disaster risk reduction, peace and security”, he said.

The Nigerian president has prayed that the memory of the late prime minister would be a blessing to his nation and people, “whom he served so devotedly”.
