Boris Johnson set to resign as UK Prime Minister
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson may today tender his resignation.
Pressure has been mounted on Boris Johnson in the past few days to tender his resignation after more than 50 resignations from all levels of government.
A source revealed that the prime minister has spoken to the chairman of the Conservative backbench 1922 Committee, Sir Graham Brady, and concurred to stand down.
The confirmation was made shortly after the prime minister’s newly appointed Education Secretary, Michelle Donelan tendered his resignation.
Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace had earlier withdrawn his backing for the prime minister after Northern Ireland Secretary, Brandon Lewis resigned his appointment.
