Unknown gunmen kidnap paramount ruler in Plateau

Some unknown gunmen have launched an attack on the palace of the paramount ruler of Panyam town, His Royal Highness, Aminu Derwan, in Mangu Local Government Area of the Plateau State.

The spokesman of the police in the State, DSP Alabo Alfred, while confirming the incident said, “As I am speaking to you now, efforts are in motion to rescue the victim. The DPO of the area, the anti-kidnapping unit and other tactical teams are there to ensure the rescue of the victim.”

It was reported that the unknown gunmen have kidnapped the traditional monarch after launching an attack on his palace and shooting sporadically on Monday.

A person residing in the area while confirming the development said the incident happened around midnight. He narrated that the unknown gunmen surrounded the palace of the district head.
