Ortom demands release of Kanu, condemns Buhari’s double-faced response to security crisis

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has on Wednesday, demanded the release of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Ortom made the call in an interview on Arise TV monitored by MouthPiece Nigeria.

Kanu was apprehended last year by the Buhari’s adminstration on charge bordering on treasonable felony.

His trial was few days ago adjourned to November 14 after the court had dismissed his bail application.

Speaking on the incessant attacks on villages especially in Kaduna, Zamfara Katsina and others, Ortom condemned the hypocrisy of APC governement in fighting the scourge.

He blamed most of the attacks in the country on the collaboration between foreign Fulanis and indigenous ones to heinously take over the country.

“I want to call that Kanu should be released. Why are you not arresting Fulani bandits instead of someone who wants better for his people? The kidnapped victims in the Kaduna rail are yet to be rescued.

“I have never said the Fulani race is bad but we need to call a spade a spade. The foreign Fulanis are the ones who are collaborating with the indigenous ones to take over the country. I don’t blame everything on the Fulani race. We are free citizens”, he said.

He also noted that his state was denied the approval to borrow and bailouts because of his incessant attack on the ruling party.

“The FG refused to grant Benue State bailouts because I refused to join the APC. I have been paying salaries; what is left are arrears. The FG also borrowed to pay salaries but my application to borrow was not approved. The reason is because I speak against them whereas other states were supported regarding bailouts. The NNPC are serving their cronies while the Federation account is suffering at the detriment of the economy.”
