Nigerian governor reveals how Atiku insulted Wike

Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has revealed that the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, insulted the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

The Governor made this revelation during a television interview.

The Governor insisted that it was an insult for the party’s flag bearer to send people to Wike, who came second, close to him, in the party’s presidential primaries.

Ortom condemned Atiku for not spreading friendly arms to Wike personally.

Governor Ortom said: “It’s an insult for Atiku Abubakar to send people to a powerful mobiliser like Wike.

“Atiku offended Wike. It is an insult for Atiku to send people to call Wike.

“Atiku and the leadership of the party at all levels must visit him, Wike is a strong pillar in PDP.”

“Why can’t Atiku visit Wike personally?”

MOUTHPIECE NGR had reported that Atiku, had on May 28, secured the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 371 votes, defeating his closest contender and the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, who got 237 votes.

Wike has accused stakeholders of his party in the south of “betrayal”.

MOUTHPIECE NGR observed that Wike has not congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, ever since his choice as the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
