Kwara Governor invited as West Africa (ECOWAS) Youth Council holds democracy summit Jan 29

INEC, NPF, NOA, NIGERIAN ARMY, NYCN, NANS, CAN, NSCIA, PDP, APC and others have been invited to be lead discussants at the maiden edition of Youth and Democracy Summit.

This is contained in a statement by its convener who doubles as ECOWAS Youth Ambassador in Nigeria, Amb. Ishola Rafiu.

The program tagged ‘Youth and Democracy Summit’ was scheduled for 29th of January, 2022 at NBA Hall, High Court, Ilorin, Kwara State by 10:00am.

The theme: Youth & Sustaining Democracy in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and Way forward and the Sub-Theme: Nigeria 2023: Roles of Youths in ensuring Free, Fair & Credible Elections have been in-line to be discussed.

The Special Guest of Honour; AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq, Kwara State governor; Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, INEC; Keynote Speaker, IGP Alkali Baba Usman.

According to the statement; “This is the maiden edition and the gathering is focused on proffering lasting solutions to the enduring democracy challenges faced by young Africans as a means of sustaining their capacity on the continent.

“This year’s edition of the summit will feature INEC, NPF, NOA, NIGERIAN ARMY, NYCN, NANS, CAN, NSCIA, PDP, APC and others as its lead discussants for the Sub-Theme.

Rafiu said the summit will focus on portraying the economic potentials of young Africans in order to build sustainable prosperity on the continent.
