LAUTECH SU leader, Olamide hail Makinde on tuition fee reduction

The Students Union leader of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Comrade Olamide Olabiyi have hailed Governor Seyi Makinde for reducing school fees and constructing Under-G- Stadium road linking to school gate.

Mouthpiece NGR recalls that the governor on Tuesday announced 25 per cent reduction of school fees and commissioned dependance Unit at the teaching hospital after inspecting the Under G — stadium road.

This follows an appeal made by the students Union leader, Olamide when the Governor met with some students at Amphi theatre in the school.

Olamide described Makinde as “an exceptional leader with a listening ear”, adding: “What the governor has done opens a new phase in the history of Oyo state. That is why it is important to appreciate him.”

He thanked Governor Makinde for acceding to their request at a time Kaduna Governor just increased his state owned institution.

The statement read in part: “We appreciate your commitment and funding towards our institution, the impacts of this are immeasurable as we have been experiencing uninterrupted and stable academic calendar and activities which has in turn returned our institution to the spotlight as the best state university in the country and demand to study here has increased exponentially, this is evident in the just concluded admission exercise.”

“The UnderG road on which our students, staff and the Ogbomoso community ply is one that has boosted the economy of the community. We are grateful to your government for helping fulfil the promise on the reconstruction of the UnderG road. It did not just boost the economy but the bright street lights also helped increase the security level on the road as students now walk on the road without any fear and have students gathering without any security threat.”

“The fixing of bumps on this road is an indication of how listening and responsive your government is, sir. May God continue to strengthen you as you continue to lead us to the promise land.”

“Today is not enough to count the blessings from your government as they are so many that they are inexhaustive. It is on this note that we plead on behalf of our students that your excellency should help us fulfil the long time promise you had for us as regards the reduction in tuition fee, this is a feat that will excite and increase the joy of the student populace, and we know your government to be a listening and responsive one. We pray that God keep you for us, sir.”

“Also, when the news of taking our institution to another greater level broke out; we all were so excited as we know the prospects of having our institution as a conventional university and operating a multi-campus system. The impacts it will have on economy, growth and development of Oyo state will be such a remarkable one. Our plea is as regards the relocation of some already established faculties to other locations, we plead that we have the creation of more faculties across the state and grow and develop them to the same standard.”

“We say a big thank you for all you have done, you are doing and will still do. We will like to plead with you to help incorporate the capable products of our institution into your administration as our students and alumni body have been of great support to your administration and will continue to do so.”
