Mulikat Adeola’s recent outburst, a glorification of corruption, ingratitude, lack of integrity— Ogbomoso North PDP Members

A group under the auspices of concerned PDP members of Ogbomoso North Local Government has described Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola’s recent outburst as glorification of corruption, ingratitude and lack of integrity.

Mulikat, former leader of the House of Representatives, had last week Saturday disclosed that she would have been happier if the Supreme Court had reinstated the sacked council chairmen and councilors.

According to her, instead of asking the government to pay salaries and allowances of the council helmsmen, reinstating them would have put a stop to governors in the habit of sacking elected council bosses.

The embattled former majority leader of the House who has been at loggerheads with the Governor also apologized for supporting Seyi Makinde in the build up to the 2019 general election.

She said she has learnt and regretted her actions, saying, “if the opportunity presents itself again, I will do things differently.”

Reacting, a group on behalf of Ogbomoso North Concerned group in a statement obtained by Mouthpiece NGR on Tuesday said Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola is not only a desperate political jobber but a politician with no definite ideology or personal convictions -cum- philosophies. She belongs to a class of politicians whose intent is to continue to enrich themselves at the expense of the masses.

It said the party senatorial candidate for Oyo North in the 2019 general elections has chosen to walk on this inglorious path. She is like the proverbial ingrate referenced earlier. She belongs to the class of people who live in the moment and cares only about what they can get at a particular moment.  No doubts, these actions of hers are carefully mapped out plans by the enemies of progress. They seek to distract this focused administration from delivering quality leadership to the good people of Oyo State.

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to the some damaging remarks and inciting comments made by the former majority leader, House of Reps, Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola against the administration of the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde and the head of Advisory Committee, Senator Hosea Agboola on a political program on the popular radio station, Fresh FM, Ibadan on Saturday 8th of May, 2021.”

“Without mincing words, we wish to State categorically and in all honesty that all allegations made by this two-faced woman are nothing but a big castle of lies perfectly built by her and her cohorts to cause unnecessary rancour within the PDP Family in Oyo State and call the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to question.”

“To start with, Hon. Mulikat alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde only listens to Senator Hosea Agboola alone. The implication of this is that Senator Hosea Agboola is the one running Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration and that everyone is at his mercy. This line of thought is not only nonsensical but puts a question on her intelligence quotient. Anyone who has been closely following and monitoring the activities of Governor Seyi Makinde will attest to the fact that he runs a super-inclusive government that prides itself on consulting with even members of the general public.”

“It might interest this agent of darkness to know that as concerned members of the party, we have the records of how this same Senator Hosea Agboola whom she now despises and demonizes was instrumental to her emergence as the Party’s candidate in the last senatorial election. How time flies! No wonder a popular Yoruba proverb says, “Ojo ore pe, asiwere gbagbe”.

“Hon. Mulikat also claimed that the Governor has never been of any assistance to her. This woman must have probably lost her memory or is plainly wicked. We still find it appalling that you who once sung the praises of Governor Seyi Makinde for his generous contributions towards your campaigns and elections is now singing the songs of a typical ingrate. Madam Mulikat, we would also like to remind you that it was this same Governor Seyi Makinde that bore the financial cost of your case at the election tribunals when you lost the election. We have the proofs of all these, should you try to deny.”

“Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola is not only a desperate political jobber but a politician with no definite ideology or personal convictions -cum- philosophies. She belongs to a class of politicians whose intent is to continue to enrich themselves at the expense of the masses.”

“Despite being in the know of your atrocities and your anti-party activities in the last gubernatorial election and the House of Representative election in your federal constituency, Governor Seyi Makinde still tried to bring you close. He made your candidate, Professor Afonja a commissioner in his cabinet. It was while Afonja related closely with the Governor that he got to know the real him. He saw how wicked you are and could not continue to relate with you in good conscience. Do you blame the man?”

“It is indeed a pity that Madam Mulikat has chosen to walk on this inglorious path. Little do they know that Governor Seyi Makinde and his team are a moving train that cannot be stopped. Oyo State must continue to progress whether the “ojelus” like it or not.”
