Gunmen kill village head’s son in Kwara

Gunmen have killed a son of Kwara community leader.

The suspected gunmen were said to have stormed Reke Community, Eyenkorin/Afon road in Asa local government area and killed their victim.

It was gathered the gang of the armed men invaded the community around 2am, headed straight to the house of Alhaji Abdullahi Jimoh, the Magaji of the community and opened fire on his eldest son whose name was given as Abiodun.

Spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara Command, Babawale Afolabi confirmed the incident, saying that the corpse of the deceased had been taken to the General Hospital by the Police in Afon division for autopsy

He said: “Information reaching the NSCDC said that Reke village was on fire as some gang of armed guy’s came over night around 2am to magaji compound of Reke village, they killed the son of Reke village head.

“The entire jurisdiction is under panic with the rumors going all about in the community. The police officers from Afon divisional headquarters have taken the Corpse to the hospital for autopsy test.”

He said that officers of NSCDC had visited the scene of crime and had commenced Investigation.
