Eid-il-Maolud: OOT felicitates with muslims on Maolid, urges fasting, prayers

The Caretaker Chairman of Ogbomoso South, Hon. Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy, has called on Muslims nationwide to use the opportunity of Eid-el-Maolid celebration to fast and pray in the wake of massive violence in some part of the country occasioned by #EndSARS protests.

Oyeniyi said it is only with prayers and conviction that the energy of all and sundry could be channeled towards moving the country forward.

This was contained in a goodwill message sent to adherents of the Islamic faith in his constituency on the occasion of Eid el- Maolud (birthday of Prophet Muhammad) celebration on Thursday.

OOT implored the Muslims to pray fervently for continued well-being of Ogbomoso South, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

The statement made available to Mouthpiece NGR reads: “I felicitate with my Muslim brothers and sisters in Ogbomoso South, Oyo State and Nigeria on this blessed day on the occasion of the Maolud Nabiyy, the celebration of birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW).”

“This is a moment of reflection for all of us particularly a period for our Muslims brothers and sisters to emulate the humility, good neighbourliness, understanding and love exemplified by the life of Prophet Muhammad.

“What the nation is going through is a lesson for the leaders and the led to act conscientiously. So let’s help our country by fasting and praying fervently to overcome this trying time.”

OOT equally tasked the people of Oyo state to live in peace and extend hands of fellowship to their neighbours so that the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere the state has been enjoying under Makinde’s led administration will continue unhindered.
