How Makinde betrays coalition agreement— Lanlehin Loyalists

The loyalists of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin has appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to fulfill all his mouth watering promises made during the coalition agreement in the 2019 general elections.

In a statement jointly signed by leaders of the six geopolitical zone and made available to Mouthpiece NGR on Thursday, the group said the governor is yet to honor the agreement made with their boss who willingly surrendered his mandate, supported and actively participated in the coalition that birthed his victory in the last gubernatorial elections,
The statement reads “Loyalists of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 general election, who willingly surrendered his mandate, supported and actively participated in the coalition that birthed the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Seyi Makinde in the last gubernatorial elections, converged on the ADC State Secretariat, Oke Bola, Ibadan, on Wednesday,  22 January, 2020 to review current undercurrents in Oyo State, and came up with the following resolutions, after very thorough and extensive deliberations:
“I. That we unequivocally pledge our unalloyed loyalty and support to Senator Olufemi Lanlehin’s  leadership, confirming equally that we remain bonafide members of African Democratic  Congress (ADC), Oyo State Chapter;
“II. That we appeal to members of the Oyo State ADC to remain calm, committed and coordinated, notwithstanding the trying times, and the uncertain political currents;
“III. That we wish to remind the Oyo State governor, Engnr Seyi Makinde not to renege on the advertised mutual and gentleman agreement he had with Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, most especially the promise to give 30% of all political appointments across board to nominees of Senator Lanlehin from the Oyo State Chapter of the ADC;
“IV. That since the governor’s assumption of office on 29 May, 2019, a lot of water has passed under the bridge, marked essentially by several political appointments in all sphere of governance already made by the governor, including the recent local government appointments;
“V, That it is sad, and indeed unfortunate, that eight months into government, not one slot has been given to Senator Lanlehin, who not only sacrificed his mandate, but committed huge financial resources to Engr, Makinde election as well as called on all his followers and Oyo State voters to elect Engr. Seyi Makinde, in the March 2019 governorship election;
“VI. That we are of the opinion that it is not yet over, and that though the buck stops on Engr. Makinde’s table, we believe undoubtedly that he can still take appropriate action now. Not doing so, we believe is being ungentlemanly, and a demonstration of ungratefulness and a negation of the Yoruba concept of Omoluabi
