JUST IN: Three LAUTECH Students Wins UNILORIN- SU Business & Entrepreneurship Summit Grants (photos)

Three students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, have won the Unilorin Student Union grants held today, Thursday, at the University of Ilorin main Auditorium. 

The Business and entrepreneurship summit is an annual Business Event which takes place across Nigeria Universities. 
According to the Convener from LAUTECH, Adewuyi Pelumi, the Last year summit was held in FUTA before holding this year in Unilorin.
Mouthpiece NG gathered that about 250 students participated in the competition which comprises of students from LAUTECH and Unilorin. 

The LAUTECH students were only 40 in their numbers while unilorin students were about 210 that participated in the competition. 
The business pitch is a 15 seconds presentation where students are chanced to talk about their entrepreneurship startups.
Twenty five students, however, made it to the second stage where about 10 Ladokites also made the list. 
Out of the twenty five students, only about four of them got to the final stage.
Three out of the four LAUTECH students that made it to the final stage won a grant worth thousands of naira in cash. While UNILORIN only had one student that won the grant prize. 
These LAUTECH students are: 
1.Raji Kofoworola 200lvl ANB
2.Akintunde Opeyemi 500lvl CVE
3. Oluwabiyi Esther
500lvl Physiology 
Speaking with Mouthpiece NG, Mr Barnabas Adejinmi P.C: JimiB, who’s one of the team leader from LAUTECH said, he’s so excited that LAUTECH students are not only academics oriented but are also intelligent and have many innovative ideas within them.
Challenging the student Union Excos of LAUTECH not to be only politically ambitious, he advised them to begin to think out of the box and have the spirit of bringing Innovative programs that will push out the Entrepreneurship spirits amidst the students. 
Some of the student participants from LAUTECH also include Mr David Olateru of Citytours.ng, Mr Eric of Erico’s kitchen and many others.

 

The cash grants was presented by the University Student Union Financial Secretary, Mr Tobi Ajewole.
