Ona-Ara LG Opens Seyi Makinde Marriage Registry, Multi-Purpose Hall For Public Use
The newly constructed Engr Seyi Makinde Marriage Registry and Multi-Purpose Hall in Ona-Ara Local Government will be open for public use from November 2026.
The facility, built under the administration of the Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Dr Temitope Kolapo Glorious, will provide residents with a dedicated venue for marriage ceremonies, social gatherings, meetings and other programmes.
Located opposite Bitemore, along Olorunsogo, Akanran Road, Ibadan, the hall is a new addition to the public infrastructure of the local government and is expected to boost its Internally Generated Revenue.
Named in honour of Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, in recognition of his contributions to the development of the state and Ona-Ara Local Government, the facility gives the governor’s name a lasting place in the council’s public infrastructure while serving the practical needs of residents.
Beyond its naming, the project provides individuals, families, organisations and event planners with a suitable venue for important occasions within their immediate community.
The hall is available for marriage registry and ceremonies, social events, meetings and organised programmes at affordable rates, offering residents a convenient option for celebrations and activities.
The project underscores the importance of public infrastructure that responds to everyday needs. By providing a dedicated venue for ceremonies and official engagements, the facility is positioned to support community activities and make event planning more convenient for residents of Ona-Ara and beyond.
With the facility now ready, members of the public are encouraged to make enquiries and explore booking arrangements.
