TNA Attends Oyo Teachers’ Football Championship, Congratulates Winners

Barrister Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, popularly known as Seun TNA, the APM candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency (OFC), has attended the 2026 Oyo Zone Teachers’ Football Championship held at the Durbar Stadium as part of activities marking this year’s World Teachers’ Day.

Ashamu, a known lover of football, was at the stadium to watch the third-place match and the final of the competition, joining teachers, football enthusiasts and other stakeholders to witness the sporting event.

The championship provided teachers from different schools within the Oyo Zone an opportunity to compete in football while promoting teamwork, interaction and healthy competition.

At the end of the competition, Community High School, Awumoro, emerged as the eventual champions. Ashamu congratulated the winners and commended all the participating teams for their efforts and sportsmanship.

Reflecting on the significance of the celebration, Ashamu said: “Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping our society, and we celebrate and appreciate them for all they do.”

He also used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to supporting community-based initiatives across the constituency.

According to him, “We will continue to support associations, organisations and communities across Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba Federal Constituency in their efforts to improve lives and livelihoods.”

His participation in the championship comes as part of his wider engagement with community activities across the four local government areas that make up the Oyo Federal Constituency, while the football event also provided an opportunity to celebrate teachers and recognise their contribution to society.

The championship ended with Community High School, Awumoro, taking the honours, bringing together the celebration of teachers and the promotion of sportsmanship through football.
