Ibadan North Rep, Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), Closes Applications for One-Day Representative Programme

The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), has formally closed applications for the One-Day Representative Programme.

The initiative, facilitated and sponsored by the lawmaker, is designed to give constituents practical exposure to legislative duties.

The application window, which opened a month ago, was targeted at eligible indigenes of Ibadan North who are 25 years and above and are registered voters in the constituency.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Akinwale Bodija, the overall winner will receive a cash prize of ₦1 million, while the first and second runners-up will receive ₦500,000 and ₦250,000 respectively.

Beyond the cash prizes, the overall winner will enjoy a fully sponsored trip to the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, where he or she will experience legislative proceedings firsthand and occupy the lawmaker’s office for one day.

Bodija said the initiative is aimed at deepening civic awareness and giving constituents a practical understanding of how the National Assembly works and the responsibilities of an elected representative.

He added that details of the next stage of the competition, including the screening process and arrangements for shortlisted applicants, will be communicated in due course.

The closure of applications marks the beginning of the next phase as organisers proceed with evaluation and selection.
