At 66, Nigeria still a nation of hope— Wale Canada
The member representing Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi JP, popularly known as Wale Canada, has felicitated Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message, Wale Canada described Nigeria as a country of hope, resilience and immense possibilities, extending his warmest greetings to Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora.
He called on citizens, particularly the people of Atisbo/Saki-East, to remain hopeful and committed to the collective aspiration of building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
According to him, at 66, Nigeria remains richly endowed with human and natural resources, cultural diversity, entrepreneurial energy and a resilient population capable of overcoming challenges and turning difficulties into opportunities.
“Our journey as a nation has not been without difficulties. However, through every challenge, Nigerians have continued to demonstrate resilience, courage, creativity and an unwavering belief in the promise of a better tomorrow,” he said.
Wale Canada noted that the anniversary should serve not only as a moment of celebration but also as an opportunity for renewed reflection on the responsibilities of both leaders and citizens in advancing the nation.
He said the Nigeria of collective aspiration is one founded on peace, justice, unity, opportunity, inclusiveness and sustainable development, where every citizen can contribute meaningfully to national progress.
The lawmaker called for greater unity, peaceful coexistence and renewed commitment to the common good, urging Nigerians to continue supporting initiatives that improve lives and create opportunities for present and future generations.
He particularly encouraged young Nigerians to remain hopeful, resilient and confident in their ability to contribute to national development.
Wale Canada reaffirmed his optimism about Nigeria’s future, stressing that responsible leadership, constructive citizenship, unity of purpose and sustained commitment to development will continue to strengthen the nation and move it closer to the aspirations of its founding fathers.
He also paid tribute to Nigerians, past and present, whose sacrifices and contributions have continued to shape the country’s journey since independence.
“Nigeria remains a nation of hope. Nigeria remains a nation of possibilities. Nigeria remains our home,” he added.
He prayed for continued peace, unity and prosperity, wishing Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary.
