2027 Oyo North: Iba of Kishi Endorses Shina Peller

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the senatorial ambition of Hon. Shina Peller has received a major boost as the Iba of Kishi, Oba (Engr.) Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal, Arowoduye II, endorsed the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District.

The royal endorsement was given on Friday when Peller led a delegation to the monarch’s palace in Irepo Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The APM candidate was accompanied by party executives, loyalists and his mother, Alhaja Silifat Abeo Abiola Peller, popularly known as Lady Peller.

The visit was a homecoming for the senatorial hopeful. Lady Peller is a prominent daughter of Kishi, born to the late Alhaji Soliu Ali, widely revered as Kiniun Adini, who served as one of the most distinguished Chief Imams of Kishi land.

Welcoming Peller as a true son of the soil, the Iba of Kishi offered royal prayers and blessings for his victory in the forthcoming polls.

Addressing the royal court, Peller said he remains the most qualified contender to unite and develop the district.

He highlighted his deep-rooted connections across the three major blocs of Oyo North. His father hails from Oke Ogun I axis, his mother is a native of Oke Ogun II (Kishi), and his academic foundation was built in the Ogbomoso axis, where he earned both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Beyond geographical ties, Peller stressed the need for legislative experience to manage the diverse interests of Oyo North’s 13 local government areas. He described himself as the candidate with the requisite experience to hit the ground running.

According to the APM candidate, this advantage will ensure effective representation and democratic dividends for the district at the 11th National Assembly.

The endorsement positions Shina Peller as a formidable contender in the race for the Oyo North senatorial seat.
