Kwara Gov, AbdulRazaq Is A Gossip, He Calls My Name Every Time— Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has defended the decision of some opposition governors and PDP members to support President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, saying it does not amount to anti-party activity.

Wike stated this while reacting to criticism trailing the endorsement of President Tinubu by some governors elected on the platform of opposition parties.

“Soludo is supporting Mr President, does it mean he will not present candidates for National Assembly and other positions? Adeleke is supporting Mr President, does it mean he will not present candidates for other positions in Osun? Alex Otti is supporting Mr President, will Labour Party not also produce candidates for other positions? So what are they saying?” he queried.

The former Rivers State governor also took a swipe at the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, accusing him of blaming him for his political woes.

“Take for example, the Governor of Kwara, I saw him there, so unfortunate, anytime he sees a snake, it’s Wike. Anytime he sees a reptile, it’s Wike. Any day he doesn’t eat, it’s Wike. I have never seen people who will give time to gossip more than the work they have been given,” Wike said.

He accused the Kwara governor of failing to manage his local politics.

“He has three serving senators, he changed all of them. He has House of Reps members, he changed all of them. If you are a good politician, you will call them and say okay, I will give you this, I will tell Mr President, you will get minister and all that. He did nothing. You have ADC and NDC, they are not supporting the President. So what happens if they join those parties?”

Wike maintained that PDP members supporting the President while retaining their party tickets is in order.

“So we, the PDP, are supporting Mr President and gave them tickets and you are not happy. You see, when you can’t solve your local problems, you start calling Mr President,” he added.
