5th Edition: Rep. Oyekunle Distributes Food Palliatives Across Ibadan North

The member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), has held the fifth consecutive edition of his food palliative distribution, reaching hundreds of residents across the constituency as part of efforts to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges on the people.

The latest distribution, which took place on Monday at the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat, brought together beneficiaries from various communities, religious bodies, associations and other groups across the federal constituency.

Speaking with beneficiaries at the event, Oyekunle said the initiative was specifically designed to reach out to the people and provide immediate support to families experiencing economic difficulties.

He stressed that the intervention was not politically motivated, noting that his commitment to the welfare of his constituents transcended political considerations.

“This is specifically to reach out to our people. It is not about politics. Whatever we can do to bring relief and value back to our people, we will continue to do,” Oyekunle said.

The lawmaker assured constituents that he would not relent in his efforts to bring more benefits and opportunities to Ibadan North, stressing that the palliative distribution had become a continuous intervention, with the latest edition marking the fifth in a row.

He also highlighted other dividends of representation facilitated for the constituency, including solar-powered street lights, federal employment opportunities, empowerment programmes and other interventions, noting that they had been distributed to constituents based on identified needs.

According to him, the essence of his representation is to ensure that the people directly benefit from the opportunities and resources attracted to the constituency.

Oyekunle further assured residents that more interventions were on the way, promising to continue doing his best to bring tangible benefits to the people.

He appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for providing an enabling environment that continues to motivate leaders and stakeholders to serve the people, while also thanking the residents for coming out in large numbers to receive the food items.

Speaking at the event, respected elder statesman, Baba Ismaila Ashipa, commended Oyekunle for what he described as effective representation and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

Ashipa urged the people to continue to support the lawmaker with their prayers and encouraged them to reciprocate his efforts and commitment to the constituency by supporting the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) at the polls.

The beneficiaries comprised residents from different communities within Ibadan North Federal Constituency, as well as representatives of religious organisations, associations and various community groups.

The well-attended event was graced by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, the Vice Chairman, Secretary to the Local Government, party leaders, supporters and other stakeholders.
