Oke LEGACY offers full scholarships to three Oriire children affected by abduction

The APM Candidate for Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire Federal Constituency, Hon John Adisa-Oke LEGACY has offered full educational scholarships to three children from community in Oriire Local Government Area, who were among the schoolchildren abducted in the area and recently reunited with their families.

The scholarship was formally presented during a visit to the community, where the Oke LEGACY team met with the Baale of Esinele and community members. The intervention is aimed at helping the children return to their education and rebuild a sense of normalcy after the traumatic experience they endured.

Under the scholarship programme, the three beneficiaries will have their tuition, boarding fees, learning materials, and other necessary educational expenses fully covered. The support will continue from their primary education through to college, giving the beneficiaries the opportunity to pursue their education without the burden of financial constraints.

Speaking on the initiative, Oke LEGACY emphasized that the recent ordeal suffered by the children should not be allowed to define their future. He noted that beyond celebrating their safe return, there is a responsibility to support their recovery and ensure that they remain in school and have the opportunity to fulfill their potential.

The scholarship intervention is also part of Oke LEGACY’s broader commitment to educational support and community development. Since 2020, Oke has supported the education of the son of the late Jimoh Isiaq, a young Nigerian who was killed in Ogbomoso during the #EndSARS protest. Over the years, he has similarly supported hundreds of youths through scholarships and other forms of educational assistance across Ogbomoso and its environs.

The team that visited Esinele and Yawota to facilitate the scholarship intervention comprised Mr. Joseph Sangolade, Mr. Olasunkanmi Oketayo, and Mr. Obajemu Victor.
