Ibadan North LG Election: Rep Oyekunle Congratulates Olufade On APM Consensus Ticket

The member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has congratulated the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, on his emergence as the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, chairmanship candidate for a second term ahead of the 2026 Local Government Election.

Olufade emerged as the party’s consensus candidate following unanimous endorsement by party leaders and stakeholders. The development has been described as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership and performance in office.

In a statement issued on Monday, Hon. Oyekunle described Olufade’s re-emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his commitment to grassroots development, inclusive governance and quality leadership.

He said the overwhelming support for the chairman was a testament to his record in office and the trust he has earned from residents and stakeholders across Ibadan North.

“Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade’s emergence as the APM consensus candidate for a second term is a clear demonstration of his leadership and the confidence the people continue to repose in him. 

He has consistently shown dedication to the growth and development of Ibadan North, making him the people’s choice,” Oyekunle stated.

The lawmaker added that Olufade’s style of governance has strengthened the relationship between government and the people, expressing confidence that the chairman would consolidate on his achievements if re-elected.

Oyekunle also commended the leadership of APM for adopting consensus, describing it as a demonstration of unity, maturity and commitment to the collective interest of the party.

He wished Olufade a successful campaign and victory at the polls, and urged party members and supporters to remain united to ensure another resounding electoral victory for APM in Ibadan North.
