Over the past three years, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (SMATO) has remained committed to delivering quality representation through impactful projects, people-centered empowerment, legislative interventions, and sustainable community development across Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency.
Water Supply and Rural Development
Borehole Drilling and Rehabilitation
A total of 36 new boreholes have been facilitated across the constituency, while over 95 existing boreholes have been rehabilitated to improve access to clean and safe drinking water.

Youth and Community Empowerment
Over 200 elderly men and women empowered with deep freezers and generators.
More than 100 youths benefited from the first phase of cash empowerment.
Distribution of palliatives to approximately 5,000 constituents.

Participants also received financial support.
Third phase agricultural empowerment trained over 150 youths in modern agricultural practices.
EDUCATION
Construction and facilitation of six classroom blocks, with an additional three classroom blocks in Mayin Ward.
Establishment of a modern Library/ICT Centre at Arolu Town.
Establishment of a modern ICT Centre at Mayin Town.
Facilitation of Library/ICT Centre at Iresapa Town.
Facilitation of Library/ICT Centre at Pontela, Olode, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government.
Payment of JAMB registration fees for 100 students across the constituency.
Distribution of educational materials to over 60 schools.
HEALTHCARE
Facilitation of a Primary Health Centre at Ijana Ayegun, Opete Ward 9.
Donation of over ₦5 million towards the development of Oko Teaching Hospital.
Facilitation of a Solar Mini-Grid Project at Oko Teaching Hospital.
Infrastructure Development
Construction of 2 kilometres of asphalt road in Oko Town.
Installation of 500KVA transformers in Gambari and Iware communities.
Rural electrification covering 15–20 villages.
Installation of solar streetlights across Iresa and Arolu Wards.
Financial support for the ongoing construction of the Odo-Oba Police Station.
Completion of the Oko Dam Water Supply Project.
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
Over 200 market women received ₦100,000 each.
Distribution of fertilizers, knapsack sprayers and other farm inputs to 3,000 farmers.
Second phase agricultural support reached over 6,000 farmers with fertilizers, sprayers and farming equipment.
Employment and Job Creation
Through sustained engagements with relevant federal agencies:
Over 70 youths recruited into the Nigerian Army.
Two constituents employed into the Solid Minerals Development Fund.
One constituent employed at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ogun State.
Two constituents employed into the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Two constituents recruited into the Nigerian Navy.
One constituent employed into the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
LEGISLATIVE ACHIEMENT
Hon. SMATO has remained active on the floor of the House through impactful bills and motions, including:
Motion for the construction of a Police Secondary School in Odanban.
Bill for the establishment of the Cashew Research Institute at EESADE, Ogbomoso, which has successfully passed Second Reading and has been referred to the House Committee on Agricultural Institutions.
Motion calling for federal intervention in the impasse between the Osun State Government and Segilola Resources Operating Limited to protect foreign direct investment in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.
Motion urging increased federal funding for mineral exploration and geoscientific data generation to unlock Nigeria’s mineral resources, enhance foreign exchange earnings, and promote economic growth.
