The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, on Monday rallied support for the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, governorship candidate in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, during the party’s thank-you tour in Ibadan.
The event drew party leaders, stakeholders, women, youths and hundreds of supporters who turned out to welcome Adekanmbi and reaffirm their commitment to the APM ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The visit was part of Adekanmbi’s statewide appreciation tour following his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate.
Speaking at the reception, Agboworin described the turnout as proof that the people of the constituency have embraced the vision of the APM and remain committed to sustaining the developmental strides associated with Governor Seyi Makinde’s political philosophy.
He assured Adekanmbi of the constituency’s unwavering support, saying residents would reciprocate the confidence by delivering massive votes for all APM candidates.
“Today is a demonstration of our unity, loyalty and determination to keep Oyo State on the path of progress. The people of Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East have spoken with one voice, and that voice is for continuity, development and responsible leadership,” Agboworin said.
He added that Adekanmbi has the experience, competence and capacity to consolidate on the achievements already recorded in Oyo State.
“Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi is a tested administrator and a bridge-builder. We have absolute confidence in his ability to provide purposeful leadership and deepen the developmental agenda that our people have come to appreciate,” he said.
The federal lawmaker urged party faithful to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation.
“Our strength lies in our unity. We must remain focused, continue to work together and take our message of hope to every ward and polling unit. Victory belongs to a united family,” he said.
Agboworin also commended party leaders, members and supporters for the warm reception accorded the governorship candidate, describing the exercise as another milestone in the party’s growing acceptance across Oyo State.
Also speaking, Hon. Dare Adeleke, a leader from Ibadan South East and Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on Constituency Matters, urged APM members to remain steadfast and committed to the party’s collective vision.
