Oyo Govt Demolishes Ibadan Building Linked to Adelabu Sister’s Kidnap

The Oyo State Government on Monday demolished a building in Ibadan allegedly used by kidnappers who abducted Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s sister and her twin sons, saying the action reinforces its zero-tolerance stance on criminality.

The demolition was carried out by the Ministry of Lands and Housing with security agencies after intelligence linked the structure to the gang behind the abduction, officials said.

Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped on June 3 along Elewura, Ring Road, Ibadan, while she was taking the boys to school.

The victims were later rescued in a coordinated operation by the Nigeria Police Force. Two suspected kidnappers were killed and others arrested, according to police.

Government officials said post-rescue investigations identified the demolished building as one of the locations where the victims were held during their captivity.

The state government said the demolition signals that properties used for crime will not be spared.
