Two Years On, Residents Hail Agboworin’s Kajola–Irede Road Project
Community leaders and residents of Alake, Kajola-Irede, Odinjo, and Alake-Odo Osun in Ibadan have marked the second anniversary of the Kajola–Irede Academy Road project, praising Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin for the road’s lasting impact.
Asphalt laying on the road began on May 31, 2024, and was completed six days later on June 5. Two years on, residents say the project has eased transportation, improved connectivity, and boosted commercial activity in the area.
“Before this road was constructed, movement within our communities was difficult, especially during the rainy season,” said Chief Adebayo Akinwale, a community leader. “Today, residents, traders, and commuters enjoy easy access, and economic activities have improved significantly. Hon. Agboworin’s intervention has brought lasting relief and development to our people.”
Alhaji Suleiman Olatunji, a community leader from Alake-Odo Osun, called the road a “fulfilled promise” and evidence of responsive representation.
“Two years after completion, the quality and impact of this road remain evident for everyone to see,” Olatunji said. “The project has enhanced connectivity among our communities and demonstrated what responsive representation should look like.”
Mrs. Funmilayo Adeoye, a business owner in Odinjo, said the road has cut transportation time and vehicle maintenance costs while improving customer access.
“This road has changed our daily lives,” she said. “Customers can easily reach our shops, and vehicle maintenance costs have reduced. We appreciate Hon. Agboworin for remembering our communities and delivering a project that continues to benefit us every day.”
Community leaders described the road as more than infrastructure, calling it a “symbol of hope, development, and effective leadership” that has opened new opportunities for growth.
They also commended Agboworin’s track record of constituency projects, saying his representation has been defined by “visible achievements rather than mere promises.”
As they marked the milestone, the communities reaffirmed their gratitude and support for the lawmaker, who represents Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency.
