PDP Irepo Stands Firm, Labels Basheer’s Statements “Token‑Driven”

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Irepo Local Government, Mr. Raheem Tajudeen (Teejay), has dismissed as false, misleading and baseless the claims made by former Ward 03 Chairman, Mr. Badmos Basheer, who recently resigned from the party.

Reacting to the allegations in a statement made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Saturday, Mr. Tajudeen stated that Mr. Badmos Basheer was never appointed or recognised as Chairman of Ward Chairmen in Irepo Local Government.

He challenged the former ward chairman to state when such an appointment was made, who made it, and to provide any official party document as proof, stressing that the PDP operates strictly within its constitutional structure.

He also debunked the claim that Mr. Basheer is from the ward of the Oyo State Deputy Governor, describing it as a clear distortion of facts.

He clarified that Mr. Badmos Basheer is from Ward 03, which is not the Deputy Governor’s ward, adding that party records and ward delineations are clear, verifiable and not subject to manipulation.

Teejay, who noted that the party is not surprised by the defection and subsequent statements of Mr. Basheer, explained that his actions align with his long‑known inconsistency and lack of loyalty to party ideals.

He added that within political circles, Mr. Basheer is widely known to be easily swayed by token inducements, a disposition that has continued to undermine trust in his political engagements and explains his frequent shifts in allegiance.

Reaffirming the strength and unity of the party, Mr. Tajudeen emphasized that the PDP in Irepo Local Government remains solid, focused and committed to progressive governance.

He urged party members and the general public to disregard misleading narratives, assuring them that the PDP will continue to stand firmly on truth, discipline and accountability, as also reiterated by the Party Chairman, Hon. Kunle Kazeem Olawoyin (Olumoyin).
