The African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2027 election, Doris Ogala, has reportedly been remanded at Ikoyi Prison in Lagos pending her bail hearing.
Recall that Ogala had recently raised alarm over alleged plans to detain her, expressing fears that the move could threaten her freedom and affect her political ambition.
Reality TV star and comedian, DeeOne, confirmed her ordeal in a post on X on Wednesday.
According to him, Ogala will remain in custody until a date is fixed for her bail hearing in the ongoing legal dispute involving Pastor Chris Okafor.
“Doris Ogala has just been remanded in Ikoyi Prison till she can get a date for her bail hearing,” he wrote.
Recall that Ogala has been in a legal battle with Pastor Chris Okafor following verbal attacks on the clergyman after his pre-wedding photos emerged online.
Ogala claimed they were lovers and that he had promised to marry her but jilted her for someone else.
Meanwhile, Ogala recently criticised the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, over his comments on Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s performance.
Suleman had said positively about Otti’s administration, stating that the governor could win a second term without much campaigning.
The actress questioned Suleman’s conduct as a pastor and challenged his assessment of developments in Abia, alleging that he had not visited the state despite his public comments.
