Nigeria at 66: Timothy Olufemi Felicitates Nigerians, PWDs, Urges Support For Gov. Makinde, Bimbo Adekanmbi

The Executive Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Disability Matters, Hon. Timothy Olufemi, has felicitated Nigerians, particularly Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

Olufemi, in a statement on Thursday, described Independence Day as a moment to reflect on Nigeria’s journey, celebrate the resilience of its people, and renew commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive nation.

He noted that under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo State has witnessed increased inclusion of PWDs through empowerment programmes, employment opportunities, political participation and inclusive governance.

As the 2027 general elections approach, Olufemi however urged Nigerians to remain active in the democratic process and critically assess the track records, competence, character and commitment of all candidates, including His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde in the presidential race and Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi in the Oyo State governorship race.

He further called on PWDs and other citizens to participate responsibly in the electoral process and support leadership that prioritizes inclusion, opportunity and people’s welfare.

He expressed optimism that with unity, responsible citizenship and purposeful leadership, Nigeria will achieve greater progress.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!
