Makinde To Reconstruct Iwagba, Katangua Bridges After Lawmaker, Bisi Oluranti’s Appeal

Information reaching MOUTHPIECE NIGERIA indicated that Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has approved the reconstruction of Iwagba and Katangua Bridges following an appeal by the lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency, Hon Bisi Oluranti Oyewole-Micheal.

The lawmaker had drawn the attention of the governor and the state government to the deplorable state of the bridges, which had become a source of concern for residents and road users.

Iwagba and Katangua Bridges, which serve as major link roads for several communities, had deteriorated over time, posing difficulty for motorists, traders and farmers who depend on the routes for daily activities.

Hon Bisi Oluranti, who had repeatedly called for urgent intervention, said the collapse of the bridges had affected economic activities and made movement difficult, especially during the rainy season.

Responding to the appeal, Governor Makinde was said to have directed relevant agencies to commence assessment and reconstruction work on the bridges to ease the hardship faced by residents.

The approval, MOUTHPIECE NIGERIA learnt, has been described as a demonstration of the administration’s responsiveness to the yearnings of the people and its commitment to infrastructure development across the state.

Residents of the areas, who spoke with our correspondent on Monday, commended Hon Bisi Oluranti for her intervention and Governor Makinde for his prompt response, noting that the reconstruction will restore connectivity and boost socio-economic activities.

Hon Bisi Oluranti, who equally expressed excitement over the development, also appreciated the governor for listening to the cries of her constituents, assuring that she would continue to champion projects that directly impact the lives of the people of Ogbomoso North.

The bridges were inspected today by the lawmaker alongside the chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, Hon. George Ogunlade, Hon. Kabir, and a host of others.
