Ogbomoso North APM Chairmanship Candidate, Rabiu Bello Begins Ward-To-Ward Tour Ahead of 2026 LG Poll

The Chairmanship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, Engr. Rabiu Adeyemi Bello, on Tuesday commenced a grassroots visitation tour to wards across the local government ahead of the 2026 local government election.

The tour is aimed at formally presenting himself and his running mate to party members, mobilising support, and engaging directly with stakeholders at the ward level.

The familiarization tour kicked off from Okeelerin Ward 08, where the APM working committee, led by the party chairman, Hon. Sikiru Jimoh, officially presented Engr. Bello as the chairmanship candidate and Hon. Ajao Michael as his running mate to party faithful in the ward.

Also presented were the APM councillorship candidates for the various wards.

Prominent party leaders in attendance included Alhaji Edison Garuba, former party chairman, Alhaji Hamzat Ibrahim, Hon. Oluwakemi Oloriagba; Hon. Shittu Ismail Adegoke, Alh. Abdulazeez Bashiru, and Hon. Shittu Fatimo.

Speaking during the presentation, the APM chairman, Hon. Jimoh, described Engr. Bello as a competent, grassroots-oriented candidate with the capacity to deliver purposeful leadership and people-oriented projects to Ogbomoso North.

He urged party members to remain united and work collectively to ensure victory for APM in the forthcoming election.

The entourage later moved to Ward 2 – Aje/Ogunbado/Oke Agbede, where the candidate and his team were warmly received by party members and residents.

From there, the entourage visited Jagun Ward 7 before concluding the day’s tour at Saja/Isale Ora Ward 6.

At each stop, Engr. Bello expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructural development, youth empowerment and improved welfare for residents if elected.

He emphasised that his administration would prioritise security, primary healthcare, education, market development and rural access roads to improve the standard of living in Ogbomoso North.

Addressing party members, the APM chairmanship candidate said the ward tour was designed to listen to the people, understand their challenges and build a campaign based on their needs.

“We are not coming with empty promises. This visitation is to assure you that APM is ready to serve, and together we will restore dignity, development and progress to Ogbomoso North,” he said.

Hon. Ajao Michael, his running mate, also called for unity within the party, stressing that victory at the polls would depend on collective effort and grassroots mobilisation.

The APM leadership equally used the opportunity to encourage members to intensify voter mobilisation and ensure that the party’s message gets to every household in the local government.

Party faithful at the various wards however expressed optimism that the candidature of Engr. Bello and Hon. Ajao would reposition Ogbomoso North for greater development.

The ward-to-ward visitation is expected to continue in the coming days as the party intensifies preparations ahead of the 2026 local government election.
