In a viral video circulating on social media, the man was seen being questioned by security personnel over the alleged withdrawal.
While responding to questions, he read out figures from a document he was holding, including dates and amounts he allegedly withdrew from his mother’s account.
He reportedly confirmed that the total amount withdrawn was about ₦1.4 million, which he allegedly used for sports betting.
The incident has sparked reactions online, particularly because the withdrawals were allegedly made while his mother was sick and receiving treatment.
Some users criticised his actions, while others suggested he may have hoped to make more money through betting to support his family.
