2027: Ajagba Youths Back APM’s Temilolu Ashamu For Oyo Federal Constituency

Youths in Ajagba, Oyo East Local Government Area, have thrown their weight behind Barrister Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.

The youths, under the platform of Ajagba Youths United for Nurudeen Ashamu (AYUNA), said they have resolved to combine their strength, networks and experiences to mobilise support for Ashamu across the constituency.

The group described itself as a broad coalition of sons and daughters of Ajagba drawn from different professional and social backgrounds, adding that it is prepared to take Ashamu’s message beyond their community to wards and communities across the federal constituency.

Explaining their decision, the youths referenced the Yoruba saying, “Ọmọ kì í bá ìpẹ̀lẹ̀ ìyá rẹ̀, kò sí aṣọ dá,” noting that Ashamu inherited the values of service and selflessness associated with his mother, Distinguished Senator Monsurat Aduke Sunmonu, whose public service record remains an inspiration.

The group also cited Ashamu’s interventions in youth empowerment, human development and infrastructure, saying some young people in the constituency have benefited from opportunities linked to his years in public service.

Its Chairman, Mr. Najeem, urged members to remain committed, engage positively with residents and communicate the reasons behind their support for the APM candidate.

The endorsement adds to growing grassroots support for Ashamu as political activities ahead of the 2027 polls gather momentum in Oyo Federal Constituency.
