Oyo LG Forum Commends Makinde Over APM Consensus Candidates For Dec 29 Polls

The Oyo State Local Government Forum has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for providing purposeful leadership that led to the emergence of consensus chairmanship and councillorship candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, ahead of the December 29 local government elections.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, and made available by the Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, the Forum said Makinde’s inclusive leadership and commitment to internal democracy created an atmosphere for the party to peacefully produce consensus candidates.

According to the Forum, the seamless consensus process across all 33 local government areas reflected the unity and strength of APM. It expressed confidence that the party would record a sweeping victory in the council elections.

The council chairmen congratulated serving chairmen who secured the party’s ticket for a second term, and also welcomed newly nominated candidates contesting for the first time.

They described the emergence of the candidates as a testament to the party’s cohesion and readiness for the polls, and urged all members to remain united and committed to delivering victory for APM.

Reaffirming their loyalty to the state government, the Forum pledged continued support for Makinde’s administration. It promised to work with the party and other stakeholders to sustain the developmental strides being recorded across Oyo State.
