Oyo Acting Gov Hails Iba of Kishi’s 29 Years Of Peace, Progress On The Throne

Oyo State Acting Governor, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has felicitated with the Iba of Kishi, His Royal Majesty, Alh. Oba Engr. (Dr.) Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal, JP, Arowoduye II, on the occasion of his 29th anniversary on the throne of his forefathers.

In a statement on Sunday, the Acting Governor congratulated His Royal Majesty on the milestone, describing his 29 years on the throne as a remarkable period of peace, progress and development in Kishi and its environs.

He noted that Kishi has continued to witness significant growth and transformation since the monarch ascended the throne.

Barr. Lawal attributed much of the progress to the monarch’s commitment to unity, cultural preservation and partnership with government at all levels.

“Your Majesty, 29 years on the throne is a testament to your wisdom, fatherly guidance and dedication to the service of your people. Kishi has enjoyed relative peace, harmony and development under your reign,” the Acting Governor said.

He commended the Iba of Kishi for his role in promoting education, youth empowerment, and community development, adding that the traditional institution remains a critical pillar in sustaining peace and fostering development in Oke-Ogun and Oyo State at large.

The Acting Governor also acknowledged the monarch’s contributions to the preservation of Yoruba culture and traditions, noting that his reign has strengthened the bond between the people of Kishi and other communities within and outside the state.

Barr. Lawal, who is also a proud son of the soil, however prayed for continued good health, long life and more impactful years on the throne for the monarch. 

He reiterated the commitment of the Oyo State Government to continue working with traditional rulers to advance development and ensure the wellbeing of citizens across the state.

The Iba of Kishi, Alh. Oba Engr. (Dr.) Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal, Arowoduye II, ascended the throne 29 years ago and has since been widely regarded for his progressive leadership and advocacy for development in Kishi community.
