Oyo ALGON Hails Makinde, Security Forces for Rescue of Oriire Abduction Victims

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Oyo State chapter, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde and security agencies for the successful rescue of victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement made available to journalists on Friday by the Public Relations Officer of Oyo ALGON, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, the association described the rescue as a significant breakthrough in the fight against insecurity.

ALGON noted that the swift and coordinated response by security operatives demonstrated the state government’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents.

While praising Governor Makinde for providing the necessary support and enabling environment that allowed security agencies to carry out the operation successfully, the association equally lauded the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, DSS, the Amotekun Corps, the military and other security agencies involved in the rescue, describing their professionalism and dedication as commendable.

ALGON expressed relief over the safe rescue of the victims and extended sympathy to families who endured trauma during the period of captivity.

While congratulating the rescued victims and their families, the association urged security agencies to sustain ongoing efforts to rid Oyo State of criminal elements and ensure that those responsible for the abduction are apprehended and prosecuted.

It further reaffirmed its commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that would strengthen the state’s security architecture, stressing that the safety of citizens must remain a top priority for every level of government.

ALGON however called on residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could assist in preventing criminal activities across the state.
